Recently I learned a new expression "shotgun marriage" and "shotgun wedding" for the same meaning, but which is more often used? I am asking this because with Google's key word search, shotgun marriage hit 67,100 sites whereas shotgun wedding hit 286,000. So I thought the latter expression is more popularly used than the former. What do you say?

"Shotgun wedding" is the more common expression, but a wedding refers to the ceremony.

After you've had a wedding, you have entered a marriage.

After you've had a shotgun wedding, you have entered a shotgun marriage.

I hope the marriage won't be shotgun, even if the wedding was!
