For anyone who is interested, I have posted the first album of photos from this year's family vacation at Acadia National Park in Maine among my photo albums on Webshots. This one is titled "Acadia 2008: Wildlife." Each album will be viewable by clicking through the individual pictures, in which case you can read a story line in captions under the picture. You can also view them as a slideshow without the story line. (Click "Slideshow" in the box to the right of the thumbnail screen.)

My daughter and I took more than 1,500 digital photos on this trip, so I'm going through a long process of sorting, selecting, cropping, sizing, etc. My target is to upload one album a week for the next several weeks. I have started to post the second album, but it is far from complete.

You can download these photos to your computer (and print them) if you wish, but it takes some doing. Here are the basic instructions.
1. Click on the thumbnail to see a larger version of the picture (as you do for viewing).
2. You cannot do anything with this picture, so click on the magnifying glass icon (with a + sign on it) beneath the picture to open a full-sized version.
3. Right click on this full-sized picture to get a save command.
4. Save the picture to the directory (folder) in your computer where you want it to go. Be sure to give it an identifying name; its given name will be a Webshots code number. And be sure to save it as a .jpg (JPEG) file. (Most photos have been uploaded with an 800x600 pixel resolution; a few have been uploaded in their original and much larger size.)
